FAQs

1. What is HuskyCT?

2. How do I access HuskyCT?

In a web browser, go to http://huskyct.uconn.edu

You will need an active NetID and password to login. If you have not yet activated your NetID, please visit https://netid.uconn.edu/

3. How do I reset my password for HuskyCT?

Your password for HuskyCT is the same as your NetID. To reset the password, please visit https://netid.uconn.edu/

4. Which web browsers are compatible with HuskyCT?

The following desktop/laptop browsers are supported:

Chrome (36+) (Recommended)

Firefox (31+)

Edge (20+)

Internet Explorer (11+)

Safari (6+)

5. Can I access HuskyCT from my mobile device?

Yes. To view the available mobile apps (free to UConn students), please visit Mobile Solutions for Students

Students are encouraged to download the latest version of Bb Student.

6. When will my courses be available in HuskyCT?

While most HuskyCT courses are open to students on the first day of classes each semester, some may
start earlier/later. If your course is listed as “unavailable” after the start date of the semester, please
inquire with your instructor(s).

See UConn Academic Calendar for official start/end dates.

7. My list of course is incorrect.

Courses are offered in HuskyCT at the discretion of the instructor. Therefore, not all courses in the UConn catalog will be listed in HuskyCT.

Additionally, course enrollments are updated periodically throughout the day (Mon-Sun, 8am-5pm). If you add/drop a course before 4pm ET, it will be listed in HuskyCT by 5pm ET on the same day. Courses added/dropped after 4pm ET will be reflected by 9am ET the following day. If your list of courses is still incorrect after 24 hours, please contact UITS Help Center.

8. I can’t find an assignment, exam or other content item in my HuskyCT course.

Your instructor controls the availability of tests, assignments, and other content. Sometimes your instructor has put conditions on releasing content. Consult your instructor for guidance on navigating the course and accessing materials.

9. My exam attempt in HuskyCT was interrupted and the system will not allow me to finish.

HuskyCT quizzes/exams can only be reset by your instructor. If you have exceeded the allotted number of attempts, it will be necessary for you to contact your instructor. Note that additional attempts are offered at the discretion of the instructor.

Please be sure to follow the test taking tips at TBD

10. I uploaded the wrong assignment and the system will not allow me to re-submit.

The number of attempts permitted for an assignment is set by your instructor. If you have uploaded the wrong file for an assignment, it will be necessary for you to contact your instructor. The instructor, at his/her discretion, may reset your assignment attempt.

11. How do I access courses from a previous semester?

Classes from previous semesters are generally not open to students. If you received permission from your instructor to access materials from a prior semester, the instructor may need to update the course availability date and/or your specific enrollment status.

12. Can I add/drop classes from within HuskyCT?

No. Course registration, including add/drop, is facilitated by the Registrar’s Office at (860) 486-3331 or http://registrar.uconn.edu/contact-us-students/

13. Lockdown browser – what, where and how?

Respondus LockDown Browser is a secure browser for taking tests in Blackboard. It prevents you from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during a test. If a Blackboard test requires that Respondus LockDown Browser be used, you will not be able to take the test with a standard web browser.

Respondus LockDown Browser should only be used for taking Blackboard tests. It should not be used in other areas of Blackboard.

More information: Using and Installing Lockdown Browser

14. I need to finish an incomplete and the course is no longer available?

Classes from previous semesters are generally not open to students. If you received permission from your instructor to access materials from a prior semester, the instructor may need to update the course availability date and/or your specific enrollment status.

15. A video in the course is not being displayed

Contact your instructor and inform them that the expected video is not displaying. In most cases, this effects all students in the course.

16. I’m not able to play a video in the course or the video stops unexpectedly

If a video will not play or stops unexpectedly, try the following options:
1. Clear the broswer cache. Reference: http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/
2. Try an alternate web browser
3. The video format may not be compatible with your video player. Try using VLC Player (free), which works on both Mac and Windows OS and supports virtually all video formats. Reference: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

17.  Where do I go for more help with HuskyCT?

If you are having issues connecting to or logging in to HuskyCT, please contact UITS Help Center.

For assistance with features and tools, help is available on the Student Help tab in HuskyCT. If further assistance is needed, please contact UITS Help Center.

After-hours (and Holiday) support for HuskyCT features and tools is available 24/7 from Blackboard Support at http://huskyct24x7.uconn.edu/
