Using UConn Filelocker

At the University of Connecticut there are two interfaces to share a file that may be too large to email. Dropbox uses the NetID and password login system and is only meant for individuals with NetIDs and passwords. FileLocker uses the NetID and password login system, but allows non-NetID users to access publicly shared files.

Using Filelocker

Filelocker’s file size is 2 GBs by default, but can be increased.

  • You can see how much space you have used by hovering over User Quota near the top of your Filelocker page.

If someone is requesting an upload, it MUST be uploaded by someone that has a NetID.  The upload can then be sent to non-UConn invididuals.

  • The retrieval link used when uploading a file is ONE USE ONLY and expires upon the first use.
  • If you wish to send a file to multiple recipients, you can either password-protect the file and then give the file information to the intended recipients, or you can create a group and send the uploaded file to everyone in that group.
