Student Job Opportunities


The University of Connecticut ITS Help Center hires students from all majors. We primarily use two UConn Student Labor Job Descriptions:

CC213 - Computer Specialist
*Hiring/Promotional Range - $7.20/hour to $8.20/hour, Depends on experience

Walk-in/Telephone Consulting and troubleshooting on basic technology skills in both hardware and software. This includes PC and Mac systems, Microsoft Office, Symantec Anti-virus, Exchange, various email clients, Huskymail, Webct, security and networking. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must be reliable and able to work independently.

CC313 - Computer Technician
*Hiring/Promotional Range - $8.25/hour to $10.50/hour, Based on experience and abilities.

Performs all of the above duties with more knowledge and experience as well as special project assignments.

*A student who is working in a pay class for the first time (whether through a promotion or as a new hire) must start within the hiring/promotional range (step 1, 2, 3, or 4 of the class level). After one employment period (the equivalent of a semester), at the discretion of the supervisor, a student is eligible for a one or two step pay raise (within the same class) or a promotion (to the next class level) provided the student meets the requirements of the class level.
