Introduction

IMAP Configuration

Follow these instructions to correctly configure your IMAP mail client for use with the University of Connecticut Huskymail system. Please note, all thumbnails will open in a new window if you are setting this up on the UConn Network.

Go to the Tasks Menu and select Mail & Newsgroups.

Go to the Edit Menu, and then to Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings.

On the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings screen, click on the button.

This will intiate the Account Wizard. On the first screen, select ISP or email provider option and click Next.

On the next acreen type in your Name and your reply address and click Next.

For Incoming Server, choose the IMAP option for the type of incoming server and enter in huskymail.uconn.edu in the Server     Name box and click on Next.

Fill in your Net ID in the User Name box and click Next. If you do not know this information, please go to the NetID Web     Page, Find your     NetID, and Set your Password.

Fill in The Account Name box with a name that you want this account to be known as and click Next.

Verify the information that you have entered is correct and click on the Finish Button.

Select the account name and click the Server Settings category. (You should see your IMAP account settings on the right.)

Check the box next to Use Secure Connection (SSL) and also the box next to Check for new mail at startup.
