Installing and Using UConn Anyware

UConn AnyWare is an application virtualization service that gives faculty, staff, and students remote access to university-licensed software. Prior to accessing UConn Anyware, users must download the Citrix Receiver.

  • It will contain the most up to date software available
  • Software and features are dependent on your NetID credential

Downloading the Citrix Receiver

The Citrix Receiver is an easy-to-install client software that allows access to applications securely from any device. Logging into Anyware for the first time will automatically ask you to download the receiver, and once downloaded, it will be detected every time after. More information can be found at

  1. Navigate to
  2. Click Login.
  3. Enter your NetID credentials and click Login.
  4. Once you log in, select the Detect Receiver tab.
  5. If Citrix Receiver is not installed, you must Agree to the Citrix license agreement and click Download.
  6. Click the “CitrixReceiverWeb.exe” file in your downloads and select Open to open the installation window.
  7. A new window will then pop-up to begin installation. Select Run ->Start ->Agree -> Install ->Finish.
  8. Once the Citrix Receiver is successfully installed, select Continue on the UConn Anyware page.
  9. A message will pop-up with an option to open the Citrix Receiver. Check the box that says “Remember my choice to open Citrix Receiver” and select Open Citrix Receiver.
  10. This will then open a window with all the software that UConn Anyware offers.

Accessing UConn Anyware

  1. Once the Citrix Receiver has been downloaded, Anyware will be able to detect the receiver upon login.

  3. Select Login and sign in with your NetID credentials.
  4. Select Detect Receiver.
  5. A window will  then pop-up and open Uconn Anyware.
