Using AnyWare Apps

UConn AnyWare is an application virtualization service that gives faculty, staff, and students remote access to university-licensed software. You can access software remotely through either AnyWare Apps or AnyWare Desktop. Both give you access to the same software but differ in delivery. With AnyWare Apps, you select only the applications you wish to use. With AnyWare Desktop (formerly Skybox), you connect to a virtual desktop that includes all the available software.

The following is a guide to Using AnyWare Apps.

Prior to accessing UConn Anyware, users must download the Citrix Receiver.

Don’t want to download the Citrix Receiver? You can launch UConn AnyWare in a browser with “Citrix – Light Version” as opposed to installing the Citrix Receiver. (Note: Citrix – Light Version only works with browsers that support HTML5, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge in Windows.)

Using AnyWare Apps without Citrix Receiver (Lite-Version)

  1. Navigate to anyware.uconn.edu
  2. Select Apps
  3. Click Login and login using your NetID and NetID Password.
  4. In the ‘Welcome to Citrix Receiver’ window, select Use Light Version.
  5. A window with all the software that UConn Anyware offers will pop-up.
